The Art of Fly Tying: Thinking Ahead to Fishing Season (Online)

Learn the techniques for tying creative and effective fly patterns. Become proficient in the use of fly-tying tools and materials while learning to recognize their attributes by creating life-like imitations of a fish’s top forages. Participants will learn to tie standard fly patterns from dry flies and nymphs to streamers and saltwater flies.

Learn social dancing fundamentals and the basic steps plus more for several of the most popular Ballroom Dances!  Our goal is to have a fun time in our zero-stress environment - even you "never, ever" dancers will enjoy yourself right away!  We will select from among the following each evening: the most popular worldwide dance (SWING), the most popular Latin dance (SALSA), the coolest dance (WEST COAST SWING), the easiest to learn (MERENGUE) and the float-on-air dance everyone should know (WALTZ)! This Adult Beginner Tennis Program at Pinewoods Health and Racquet Club in Torrington will teach you the basics of tennis and will have you learning how to play real games by the end of it. The class will cover groundstrokes, volleys and serve as well as scoring and doubles positioning when the students are ready. Participants should wear sneakers and can borrow tennis racquets. Pinewoods will customize a time outside of the offered times for a new group if you would like, Call Bob Cofer at (860)482-9424 to set up. Boating & Personal Watercraft Safety (Certificate Class) (Online)

This all-inclusive course allows you to operate a boat/personal watercraft and tow water skiers/inflatables. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will have learned about state and federal boating laws and earned a CT Safe Boating Certificate (Boater's License). Once completed, the State Certified instructor will guide you through the certificate download process which includes a one-time additional payment to the State of Connecticut of $50.00 per license -- then you are certified for life. *Class meets on Wed Oct 7 & Thurs Oct 8 (2 sessions).

AARP Smart Driver Course (in person) Litchfield

In this refresher course for drivers 50+ years old, participants review of the challenges faced by aging drivers and receive guidance on how to continue driving safely. Students must bring their AARP card to class if you have one.  There will be a fee payable to “AARP” at the time of class, $20 fee for members and $25 for non-members. There will a short break.  Please arrive 15 minutes before class start time.
