Marlene is an AFAA-certified group fitness instructor and certified Pound Pro. All you need is a pair of Ripstix. Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement: Beginner (New) (Online)

In this class taught by a guild-certified practitioner, consciously bring your brain into this unique exercise therapy. Classes are accessible to a wide range of movement abilities and are done lying on the floor while following easy, verbally guided movement directions. Students should wear comfortable clothes that they can move in, have one or two small, folded towels handy (in case they need head support) and have a yoga mat or blanket to lie on. It is best if during the class the instructor can see the student's entire body lying on the floor, preferably from side on, in order to be certain that her instructions are clear.

Stepping Out Strong (Online)

A one-hour strength class including advanced strength and balance moves aimed at maintaining healthy muscles and bones. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will have a deeper understanding of safe practices while working out. Topics to be covered include, but are not limited to, proper form while using free weights and body weight for strength training, and why strength training is important for bone health and strength.

Bolly X & Tone (Online)

A great workout that includes cardio and resistance training! We begin with 25 minutes of BollyX. Class transitions to a 25-minute full-body workout that includes cardio and resistance training. We end the class with a Bolly X cool down song. This is a challenging class, but the instructor will give you modification options. Be prepared to sweat it out! N. Moore

Sound Yoga Workshop (New) (In Person) Litchfield

This in-person workshop serves as a stand-alone session and intro to the online Sound Yoga course. Students will learn/ practice humming for health, vocal yoga poses, deep listening and experience a sound bath of gongs, bowls, bells, and chimes. Students should bring a yoga mat, blanket, and wear loose, comfortable clothes.

Introduction To Tai Chi: A Beginners Course (New) (Online)

This class is taught by a third-degree black-sash instructor with more than 20 years martial arts experience. This introduction to the ancient Chinese arts includes the practice of 13 standard postures in sequence of a form. You will gain knowledge of disciplines, the Tai Chi energy ball, and Qigong vs. Tai Chi. Students are advised to wear loose clothing and sneakers during the class.

Tennis For Adult Beginners (In Person ) Torrington

Held at Pinewoods Health & Racquet Club in Torrington we will teach you the basics of tennis and have you learning how to play real games, The class will cover groundstrokes, volleys, serves, scoring and doubles when students are ready. Participants should wear sneakers and can borrow tennis racquets. Pinewoods will customize a time outside of the offered times for a new group. Call Bob Cofer at (860)482- 9424 to set up.
