AHA Heartsaver CPR/First Aid For Adult/Child/Infant (Online and In Person)

Calendar Feb 1, 2022 at 6 pm, runs for 1 week

In this American Heart Association Heartsaver course intended to help adults/children/infants, participants learn how to administer pediatric CPR, First Aid, and an automated external defibrillator (AED) in an effort to save  lives. This is a 2-session class, first class meets Tuesday ONLINE a class link will be sent by the instructor, 2nd class meets Wednesday at HVRHS, Falls Village.

 A quick start guide to becoming familiar with the Founding Fathers' most important documents, including the Articles, Amendments, and the Bill of Rights. Via class lectures, discussions, and DVD presentations, students will gain a greater understanding of the U.S. Constitution as it applies to daily life.

Cat Behavior 101 (Online)

Have you ever wondered what your cat was thinking? Taught by a Certified Cat Behavior and Retention Specialist, students will learn to resolve felines' behavioral and emotional problems and harmonize cat-human relationships. The classes explore cat body language, vocalizations, and what they mean. Common behavioral issues such as litter box problems and inappropriate scratching are also covered.

Hometown Tales: Researching & Crafting Local Stories- And Why They Matter (Online)

Students explore their own rich local folk history; experience the sense of community that stories can generate; and craft their own tales. Learn the connective power of storytelling as you come to perform your own tales. Bring a notebook and pen. A suggested reading list for class will be given to students prior to the first class.

Living With Alzheimers: The Middle Stages ( Online )

Mandatory 8-Hour Security Office Certification Class (Online and In Person))

In this half-online, half-in-person course, get your CT Guard Card in this mandatory course to prepare you for your licensure application to perform security work in the State of Connecticut. Topics covered include first aid and the issues of search and seizure, citizen's arrest, and use of force. Please note: Students will need to obtain fingerprints and a photo at their local police departments before this class starts and pay a $188.25 State fee for application and background checks.This is a 2-session class, first class meets ONLINE Monday a class link will be sent by the instructor, 2nd class meets Wednesday at HVRHS.
